How much do those SP people invest? I don't know what Rick has done
to his car, but I investigated turning my Integra into a Street
Touring machine like Mark Allen's car (there was an article in
_Grassroots Motorsports_), and the total came to around $4000 for
shocks, threaded collars, springs, rear sway, intake, header, and
exhaust. Out of curiousity, I looked at the same parts for Miatas and
they were cheaper across the board.
What else can you add in CSP? Tuning an engine management system
could add up to a significant amount of money spent on the dyno...
Speaking of the S2000, Peter Thana gave me a wild ride yesterday in
Eric's car. Somebody please talk me out of taking the Mazda buyback
offer and buying an S2000!
Maybe it was the Kumhos, maybe it was Peter's driving, but that car
seemed unnaturally fast...Maybe a ride with Craig or Scot would change
my impression. Yesterday was my first time riding at an autocross,
and my first time in a car on race tires (except at Malibu and
Speedring :-)
