Eeek! I hope you weren't serious with this proposal. You just
eliminated all pre-'92 cars from Stock, and just eliminated me from
autocrossing. I just started, and I drive a '90 Miata in E Stock.
The car is my daily driver, with 181k+ miles on it. It doesn't leak
anything or cause any unsafe conditions (aside from not being real
fast...but maybe that's me). Parts are easily available from any
Mazda dealer, of which there are several in my area. One reason I'm
excited about autocrossing is that it can be inexpensive. I'm not
concerned at the moment with being competitive on a national or even
regional level. I'm just enjoying myself. If I have to purchase a
new car simply to be allowed to compete...well, I can't. Not enough
$$$. What happened to the "grassroots" thing?
