To what end?  If the tacit understanding is that the majority of competitors 
won't compete in that configuration, what is the point of the rule?

So have a bunch of TireRack license plates printed up and do away with the 
farce.  One of the sorest points of SM is that we have yet another Street 
Prepared-ish class, and STILL haven't addressed the issue of street-legal 
cars.
