Not to add to the confusion, but on my 1971 US-spec car, I have the following:

1. Two fittings on the top of the tank (on opposite corners) for vapor
recovery. These are an integral part of the tank, they are NOT screw-in type
fittings.

2. One fitting that screws into the filler neck, again for vapor recovery

3. One threaded bung on the bottom driver-side of the car, into which the fuel
line threads

4. One threaded bung on the bottom passenger-side of the car, into which a plug
threads, this is to be used for draining the tank

Again, this is on my '71. I am not sure if it is original to the car, but I
think it probably is, because it basically rusted out completely about 8 years
ago and I had to get it rebuilt. So perhaps the tanks changed over time, and
the tank that James got is from an early-model car?
