"Modern" parts aren't always all that modern - the engine I'm rebuilding now
came with Cosworth quality pistons, Carillo quality rods, custom forged
crank and so on "out of the box". It's a Martin conversion of a Ford 120E
available over the counter in 1966. The only thing I'm upgrading are the
rod bolts, and I can't think of a single reason to put junk bolts back in a
motor! Cosworth was supplying motors in 1960, as far as I know, with custom
manufactured and highly upgraded parts! So I completely fail to understand
the issue with putting good quality replacement parts in a motor.
