JB Weld and other products like it dry to an inflexible brittle state. 
That's fine on the side of an iron engine block, but doesn't work well
on plastics that inherently flex.  It's not so much that the JB Weld
patch falls off the plastic, as the plastic it's attached to wiggles and
flexes off the JB Weld.

There are far better products for this job out there.

  Strange, I haven't tried it yet, but the JB Weld web site lists PVC
in 
the "What does it bond to" section...

   Have you had experiences with it falling off?
