Martin Libhart,

Your $250 target price may be a bit optimistic. I am using the Lincoln
WeldPack 100 with their add-on mig welding kit. The base machine
is designed for use with the flux core (gas-less) wire which I have
never used. It has given me reasonably good results (for an inexperienced
welder). I don't have the numbers here, but I believe that I spent
a between $500-600 on my system, including the base machine, mig welding
kit, a face mask (the one which comes with the machine is a hand-held type),
and a bottle of CO2/AR gas.

I am currently using it to replace the sills on my MG.
