Andy,

Sometimes the angle grinder is the only way out.  However, I'd suggest 
trying a product called 'Busty', available through Ed Kaler of JustBrits 
(ed@justbrits.com).  It's superior to PBBlaster and smells a lot 
better.  The judicious application of heat can also help in many cases.
