Hi Stu,
  Probably no problem at all.   Chip Old addressed this question some
time ago in a tech article in TSO and said, more or less,  that he was
unaware of anyone having found trouble caused by the use of grease
instead of oil.
  The MGB manual, written ~15 years after the TD manual, suggested oil
also.
