With all of this talk about switching lugs (too a thicker shank) - couldn't
you use standard lugs and have a machine shop make a proper bushing for the
standard lug to effectively increase it's diameter. I put a Mazda rib case
5 speed in my brothers TR6 a few years ago and had to have a custom pilot
bushing made. I drew out what I needed with specs and had a shop make it.
Only cost me a few dollars. Obviously it would be a bit pricey to make 16
such bushings but it would be far easier than removing the axles and hubs to
press in new studs.

Basically, the lugs are wider/they have a
thicker shank (the smooth part that fits through the lug hole and aligns the
wheel) than standard aftermarket lugs made for aftermarket wheels.
