We've(SCCV) had the same issue in Vermont. There aren't a ton of
good lots to choose from up here. We finally negotiated a good
deal with a mall in central Vermont. They had a Supermarket
tenant that was unable to build on an adjacent lot. They had paved
their lot when they built the mall. However, the supermarket never
made it. Although it is not a ideal size, it is at least as large as our
old site. We also added a few events at a local kart track. The
track is 28 feet wide and .75 miles long, so it should work out well.
It's just a little on the expensive side.
We were recently booted from a national guard base. They ceased
all civilian use of the base, even the Boy scouts.
We've tackled the issue by using our non-profit status and the fact
we donate a portion of the entry fees to a local charity.

This particular mall will benefit from the increased traffic caused by
competitors and spectators.

If anyone is interested, our schedule is now up on our site.
