I agree with Eric - you can't jusge a car's performance potential by 
power/weight numbers.  But In this case we know that the Neon must make up 
lost cornering speed with acceleration.

So, if we use a more relaistic number of 90 HP at the rear wheels for a Fiat, 
and 150 HP at the wheels for a Neon, we get:


Fiat:  1900lbs/90 hp at wheels = 21.1 lbs/hp
Neon:  2250lbs/150 hp at wheels =  15.3 lbs/hp

Quite a large difference - both in absolute & percentage terms.
