Valid comparison, I'll let you be the judge(s).  

John Ames tells me he has never beaten Bob Tunnell at a local event.
( Bob -  CSP M3,  John - ESP Camaro SS & Mustang Cobra.)

I haven't done the research to verify, I take John at his word.

I don't understand. I've been told that a comparison of the top drivers in
the top prepared cars is valid. This isn't trying to move Bob (who
apparently is leaving the class after this year), but to move the car, the
M3.

If people have other suggestions on what valid comparisons are besides
comparing how Bob Tunnell has done in his car, I'm all ears.

And that's what I'm afraid is happening - an attempt to move a driver
rather than a car.
