Jay, You can't compare the availability of the 911's in the < $20k years to
Elan and say
they're similar. I've looked in the Portland, OR paper for a year and haven't
seen one.
Half the time the my paper doesn't even list any Lotus, and when they do
they are always Elite. But there will be about a half dozen 1969-1980 911
listed for
under $20k. Unfortunately, all of these need an engine swap to be "nat'l
competitive"
in ASP.
To "properly prepare" one of these, I'd have to pay about $10k to get a 3.2
motor.
Proposal should be to put 2.4 and under in BSP, 'cause a '70-78 911 with a 3.2
engine
swap *is* about as rare as an Elan. These cheaper 911 are kind of like the 1.6
miata:
a nice car but made into a regional only in SP unless you do an engine swap.
