This brings up another issue....now that team.net is
talking about the subject.
Am I the only one to see the safety aspect of this? If
you go barreling into a sweeper at WOT and your car
decides to fuel cut, you've just lost control. Fuel cut (at
least in the MR2) is not a gentle reminder (like most
rev limiters), but a violent door slam that would be equal
to taking your foot off the gas completely. It's not something
that goes away when the overboost condition is gone (the MR2
will not make ANY boost until the car is stopped and ECU
reset).
Think that'll unsettle a car on the limits of adhesion?
