TR3's and I believe 4's had a return spring on the clutch slave cyl. with and adjustable length rod going to the clutch release arm. The spring would pull the slave back into the cylinder and the clearance between the T.O.. bearing and the P. Plate was controlled by the adjustable arm. With the 6's they removed the spring and the arm is fixed length. When the clutch is released everything goes to the '0' state, but there is not necessarily and clearance between the P. Plate and T.O.. bearing. Maybe going back to the TR3 configuration would alleviate the squeal problem. Bill '70 6 |
