All
TR3's and 4's had essentially the same clutch hydraulics as
the 6's, and the same trans, pre 'B' 3's had no lo gear
syncro. Was really disappointed when I found the 6 changed
hydraulics. The return spring on the M. cyl. brings the
pedal back to its home position and allows the M.cyl to
return. The present slave cyl. setup pushes the cyl back
until the pressure plate reaches the end of it's travel and
then stops, allowing the TO bearing to lightly contact the
pressure plate. The spring on the slave cyl. pushed it back
in its cyl and the adjustable rod allowed clearance between
the T.O. bearing and the pressure plate ... and ...
necessitated periodic clutch adjustments. As the lining wore
the clearance would need adjustment.

I don't know if the big 3 have TR3 clutch linkage parts or
not. May be worth looking into, certainly easier than
replacing clutch assys.
