I bought a HANS Device this year and find it easy to use and surprisingly
comfortable. The only thing to get used to is it limits how far left and
right you can turn your head. On track, I found it a little different but
very easy to get used to. Driving through a busy paddock coming off the
track was a bit unnerving, but now I unsnap the helmet clips as I come off
the hot pits into the paddock.
I like the fact that the HANS device does not attach the driver to the car,
so if it were necessary to be extricated from a wreck, the "safety device"
does not hinder the process.
I got mine at the Mitty, the vendor mounted the pins in my helmet for free.
Cost was around US$800.
