I have no problem with your comments. But racing stresses both drivers
and cars and sometimes something breaks. I've had an incident due to a
error in judgement and I've found cracks in my front suspension during
last winter's rebuild. Even the best drivers (not that I'm implying I'm
among them) and the best prepared cars are not perfect! That's the
biggest reason incidents happen, in my never-humble opinion.
But like driving on the street (which scares the hell out of me!) there
are vast differences in driver ability, attitude and courtesy and even
greater differences in car condition in vintage racing.
Incidents happen.
We started in '65 and then everone was sportsmanlike, but drove hard.
And incidents happened. One of my brother's screw-ups ended up on the
cover of a Daytona brochure!
