Do we actually subsidize them?  You mean with tax money?  I'm not real sure
about that.  I think that the USPS is chartered to break even.  What's your
source?

Also, I have found some combinations of size and weight where the USPS is
cheaper.  Obviously, a small box weighing 12 pounds was not it.
