Greg, this really doesn't apply to you anymore as you now have the the spin on. 
 When
you undo the two nuts that hold the slave bracket onto the gearbox, you can 
simply
pull the pushrod out of the slave without undoing the pin.  This is standard 
procedure
for us when doing an oil change with the canister.  The only caution is that the
piston can fall out of the slave if not well secured by the dust boot.  If the 
dust
boot is in place, simply add a zip-tie to be sure it stays secure on the slave. 
 When
finished and reassembled, you can leave the zip-tie in place for good measure 
or cut
it off again for that fanatical concours effect. ;-)
