Coming out of the corner with gloves up,

Maybe I should clarify the girly car issue. (I don't know why I catch the
crap for these things)
Earlier I was commenting on the sidecurtain question and said the TR3 did
not keep you quite out of the elements and that now I forget to use the
heater and AC in my modern machines. Then I said "that's what happens when
manly men drive manly cars". Then Aaron Johnson posted something like "manly
car?, this is coming from a guy that drives the girliest Triumph of them
all. (with an arrow pointing at the GT6 in my signature line)
What I wrote was a come back to that statement. I guess what caught
everyones attention is when I changed the subject line from "Incompatable"
to "girly car".
I bought my wife the GT6 because I thought it was a faster car than the
Spitfire. (sorry, now I can piss off another Triumph group) Besides it kinda
looks like one of my favorites the E-type.
And to Arthur Smith, I tried to get the head off the old six for a rebuild
for 2 months after it dropped a valve seat. I needed the car for
transportation as my daily work car so I dropped the IROC TPI V-8 in and
have been happy since. More power and 21 mpg. The 6 was overworked IMHO in
that heavy sedan. Slow and thirsty 14 mpg.
So if you feel the need to flame someone about the GT6 being girly, take up
the issue with Aaron.

Geeeeze,

Mike Thompson
