For a "band-aid", I'd take the car to a place that does steam cleaning-
have the underside cleaned, then have it sprayed with oil (or WaxOyl), or
whatever will keep the rust at bay until you can treat it properly.

That's what I intend to do with the TR4 once it's mobile.  I think it
costs $50, and I get a free wash & wax.  (Hope it's not an automatic car
wash- the TR4 might get stuck on one of the rollers :-))
