I really don't know much about paint or painting. I considered a DYI on
my Spit, but decided i didn't have the patience to do the tedious work
involved. In researching the subject, i did come across some intriguing
information about primers. Primer as well as bondo both absorb water.
This is not good for your car. I also discovered there is a very
expensive epoxy primer that might be worth using if you do it yourself.
The epoxy primer exhibits less shrinkage and tends to cover the
imperfetion of any sanding marks that would show up after the job is
done. If anyone on the list has more info. about this and would share
it, pehaps it could help Michael decide about a choice of materials.
