Well, actually, I have done it while under the vehicle, without removing
the axle from the car, using a large C-clamp to remove the old, and press
in the new u-joint.(Sorry John R., but then again I have been accused of
coming from another planet on occasion :-}) I have to say though, It is
easier in the long run to just remove the axle assy- and since you will be
disconnecting the brake hoses and under there anyway, might as replace both
joints since if one is going then the other won't be far behind.
