Hi everyone,

Bought some POR15 manifold paint. I bought it because I was mislead by the
sales agent. The agent said that it could be applied without removing the
rust. Upon recieving it I read the instructions and found out that rust must
be removed(ie, sandblast, etc.). Had I known this, I would not have purchased
it.

I spoke to the original person at POR15 that told me that I could just paint
over the rust and questioned this fact. I was then told that he did not say
that and that he would remember if he did. As a side note, this person also
sent me the manifold gray color even though I requested aluminum color. He
denied being in the wrong.

Now I'll have to sand blast and prep. I may just send it back. Very
frustrating.

As a side note, two questions.

1. Does anyone know if the damper covers on ZS carbs are aluminum. I have the
175 CD's. I think they are.

2. What inexpensive method/polishing compound can I use to bring out the shine
in these dampers and also my intake manifold(aluminum). I want them to stand
out.

Thanks for all the help. The carb rebuild is going nicely.

Best regards,

Alan Camhi
