Scott,
NO sealer, either on the stock gasket, or when using
the Mr. Gasket header gasket material. (at least according to the
Mr. Gasket people) I have a Spit owning buddy who swears by
smearing axle grease on both sides of the gasket prior to assy.
Says it helps everything seal) You make the call. But I would
just clean off the mating surfaces really well and assemble dry.

Subject: Manifold Gasket
When I removed the intake and exhaust manifolds this
weekend and peeled off the old gasket, it did not appear
to have had any gasket sealer applied as you see on the
head gasket.
When I reassemble everything after painting my exhaust
manifold (going with the Eastwood product), should I
use a gasket sealer and if so, any recommendations. I
would assume that a soft sealer that doesn't harden up
would be preferable, but want the list's opinions.
