Regarding the tie rod ends with no grease fittings: I'd highly
recommend drilling and tapping for grease fittings. It's my
understanding the only difference between "lifetime lubrication" and
normal (with grease fitting) tie rod ends is the grease fitting (or lack
therof). I can't comment on the quality of the brand you've got, but
even cheap tie rod ends last far longer with grease in them. I just
replaced (again) the tie rod end on my daily driver. I didn't take the
time to install a fitting in it when I installed it last year about this
time. The other one (same relative quality) I replaced last year that
had a fitting is tight as a drum... Needless to say, I took the time to
put the fitting in this time.
