Apparently many people on the list are so busy praising/bashing TRF,
that a guy with
a problem can only get three responses to a legitimate problem. I
apreciate VERY
much the three responses I did get. For those of you who are interested
in something
besides TRF exclusively, here were my findings.

Thanks to Charlie, I took the green/blue (mostly green in my half-lit
garage) off
the sending unit, turned on the ignition, had my wife (the most lovely
Meachanical Eng
I know) touch the wire to ground while I watched the gauge. Sure
enough, it rose
slowly all the way to the opposite peg. I guess I'll be buying a
sending unit (beats
$80.00 for a gauge).

As for the oil filter situation, let me clarify. I believe the fitting
for the oil filter on my
car to be the original fitting. Since the car hasn't had an oil filter
change in over 8 years,
my assumption is that OE filters were probably available then, but now
they aren't.
Thus new oil filters from VB require a 5/8" adapter. The question is,
does anyone
(including TRF (couldn't resist)), make an oil filter that will fit the
original fitting?

Thanks Again,

Mike
