I need some help please. I have installed a mild racing cam in my 1965 TR4A
which at the time seemed like a great idea but I seem to be having some
problems with carboration. The car has SU carbs and probably the standard
jets and metering needles. My problem is that all runs great until about
4000 rpm to 5000 rpm were I begin to experience a fading of power or should I
say a pretty good engine miss. I have an electronic ignition and all seems
good from the timing side. I have experimented with different fuel/air
mixtures to no avail and wondering if the engine due to the cam installed is
seeking more fuel than the carbs can deliver? How can I determine if this
might be the problem and how can I find different sizes of metering needles?
There are no vacum leaks I can find and all symptoms appear as though the
engine is fuel starved at high rpm. By the way the cam is an iskanderian(sp)
Thanks in advance for any help....
