Hm? Seems to me that by the time you've combined a GT6 with a Spit
and dropped in a TR6 engine, your wallet will have been pretty thoroughly
hoovered. If you've never done extensive rework of an LBC (let alone
three LBCs) you may not realize how fast the bills mount up. In the
end the 'price of the TR6 world' may prove an awful lot cheaper, and
it's built to take the power.

Anyway, some filosofizing here, but first a disclaimer: Yes, you
have the right to modify your car (local laws permitting) any way
you want to. It's your car. You can even take it to the crusher,
none of us can stop you. Okay, disclaimer over. My position is
that original, unmessed-with Triumphs are a joy in and of themselves,
and rather than modify them beyond recovery (and possibly sacrificing
one or two other restorable cars in the process) you should consider
searching out the _original_ LBC that most closely exhibits the
characteristics you're seeking, buy it and restore it to stock.

I have a Vitesse 1600/6, and while it would be utterly painless
to drop a 2-litre GT6 engine in it, and I even have one sitting
around, I'm not gonna do it. Not gonna do it, na ga da ah... (who
let Dana Carvey in here?).

All IMHO, of course. Personally if I still had my Spit (sold last
weekend to a fellow list member) and I wanted more power, I'd
go the TriumphTune route: you can get gratifying horsepower out of
that 1500 lump if you're prepared to get friendly with your local
machine shop, and it's still "original", in the sense that you're
not doing anything the factory didn't do to some of its race-prepped
cars.

Again, IMHO, YMMV, EIEIO....
