Rope in the cylinder works wonderfully for locking the engine up to pull
against. Trying to use the drive train gives way to much slop, as you've
noticed.
=" breaker bar flexes. It will work, but a cheap 3/4" set does a much better
job. You can buy a perfectly serviceable set for the price of a single sears
socket in that size.
