Seems to vary by who is doing the recycling.  Some centers will take it,
most will not.  Probably depends on what process they recycle with.  My
guess would be that, if it was really re-refined, then a small amount of
brake fluid wouldn't hurt anything ... the crude that comes out of the
ground is pretty "polluted" to begin with.

But, they at least used to "recycle" motor oil by just filtering it and
blending with additives.  In that case, I'm sure they don't want anything as
corrosive as brake fluid mixed in with it.

We used to have a recycling program at work, where we were required to
carefully separate cans, bottles, white and colored paper from each other.
They would be collected in giant bins near the loading dock, and eventually
disappear.  One day I happened to be outside when the truck came to pick
them up, so I got to watch them throw everything into the same hopper <g>

With the county hopefully taking the profits to help pay for collecting and
storing the stuff.
