Dados, lap joints and tennons are some of the things I used my old RAS for 
a lot.  If all I was doing was framing or crosscuts, a sliding compound saw 
might be an option, but I need the depth adjustment, too.  As it is I'll 
probably keep my chop saw for framing work and use the RAS for anything it 
can't handle, and use the table saw for ripping and panel 
work.  Fortunately, space isn't as great a concern for me, although you 
NEVER have enough shop space.
