I've got a 20 yr old Craftsman RA saw which serve my needs well except it
takes up more space than I feel it deserves. I moved from a house with a
full basement & two car garage to a house with crawl space & two car garage.

Thus I need to consolidate a bit.

I've wondered about selling the RA saw & 10" mitre saw (chop saw) and
replacing both with a sliding, compound angle mitre saw. I assume the
sliding saw cannot do dado cuts but it seems it would meet the need for
cross cutting long boards & mitering mouldings. I also assume it would be
accurate for cross cuts without the fussiness the RA needs for initial set
up.

Would that be an option for you also?

What does the list think about the one saw replacing the two I have now?
Anybody wanna buy a RA saw &.or Makita chop saw?
