I've got an upright 220v 6hp/60gal. compressor. It came bolted to a wooden
base. That allowed the mfg. to staple the cardboard box around it. I took
off the box, placed the compressor in the corner of the garage still bolted
to it's shipping base. No shims, no level, nothing, just wired a 220 plug
to it and plugged it in. It hasn't moved an inch in the last three years.
