I built a workshop last year and had a separate line feed from the power
company. I have 100 amp service to the workshop and branch to a 50 amp
service to a separate garage where I have a 5 hp 220 volt compressor and
where I keep my bead blast cabinet.
In the workshop I run a 115 volt mig welder, a lathe, lots of lights, a
bunch of 20 and 30 amp outlets and an air conditioner. I ran it through
last summer and had no problems at all.
