I can't speak for the TB, but it is interesting to note Cliff's answer.
Although the shims may have been introduced midway through TC production,
they WERE used on the J2 of 1932 - 1934. However, the J2 shims wire inserted
exactly opposite of the TC shims. But the parts are otherwise absolutely
identical.
