I've had the same problem, especially in the summer around here. I think it
is fuel related, maybe the fuel return valve to the gas tank is acting up.
Put an inline filter in before the carbs and watch the fuel level after you
start it. You might notice a considerable drop in pressure.  Just an
idea.....
