Don't condemn the whole race because of one bad apple.  If you have a specific
solex
problem, it doesn't mean solexes are bad in general.  In condition and tune,
they
are excellent and stay that way a long time.

The late style are nicer carbs, more precise, and consistent.  Any improvement
by bolting on old styles would be due to tuning.  With proper techniques
the late styles are better, but its all in the tuning.
