DROPPING THE REAR END AND INSTALLING A NEW RING AND PINION ARE NOT AS SIMPLE
AS THEY SOUND !!!!!!!!!!!! The new gears have to be set to exact tolerances
in order to mesh properly and avoid wear and heat . Most mechanics dont have
the tools to do this correctly and I feel sure that none of us do either .
Have you ever heard the statement That " REBUILDING ENGINES IS EASY ! I DO
MINE EVERY MONTH " at the risk of sounding like an ass , if you choose to do
this yourself , we will probably be hearing about your next attempt fairly
soon . I had roush racing here in charlotte set up mine (4:11 limited slip)
for about 250.00 labor . Thats much cheaper than buying new gaers ,
differential , and bearings again .
Just my opinion . . . . Good luck either way . .
