I think this was cooked up by angry post-war Japanese engineers...
what better way to strike back at the US than by giving all the
Datsun owners ulcers from watching the oil pressure gauge sit at
ZERO? :-D

My Z's have always sat about zero at idle. Ditto for my '66 1600.
And the '69 2000. It comes up nicely as soon as ya rev 'er up.

I think the old adage is 10 psi per 1000 rpms minimum. 80 seems
kinda high just off idle, but ya never know. If you've changed the
oil and filter recently, just live with it.... but it might indicate
a clogged filter at that psi?

All IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc.
