Perhaps it's thoughtless to spend bandwidth on horror stories of
wasted britcars, but I just wanted to share this one:
About 10 years ago, two friends of mine took it into their heads
to buy a pair of Triumph GT6's that had become available about
the same time. (They were brothers, identical twins.)
Real cute idea. Identical twins, identical cars. Consistent
with this image-oriented approach, they eschewed serious
mechanical restoration in favor of very expensive paint jobs.
You can guess the end of the story. Neither of them were
interested in spending time and money under the hood or
transmission cover (no-one would SEE it, would they?), and the
availability of used GT6 parts soon went up.
Just in case anyone was wondering why this new member was so
down on wankers with britcars.
