Even though I may be wasting a little bandwidth, I had to post this...
Actually, that wasn't me who posted (James Howard did I believe). However,
I, too, agree with Jerry. I hadn't had my platinum TR8 for more than
a day when someone just decided to change lanes. They never even saw me.
We escaped unharmed but VERY tense. I now know what it must be like to
be a bike person. Anyway, LBC's by definition are "little" and "convertible"
and neither are easy to see (especially if you've got a pavement-coloured car)!
On the other hand, I was once in a red/maroon TR7 travelling in a clump
of cars going down the expressway through the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska.
There were maybe 10 cars, all going 65 (speed limit was still 55). A roving
"boy in blue" on the other side blasted the whole group with his K band
instant on, hit the red lights, careened through the median, and started after
us (we were all doing 55 by then :-) Guess who he picked to stop? The unusual
RED TR7. He didn't have a case against me but I guess he decided to choose
me as an example just because I was a red sports car... (no ticket issued)
However, I'd still rather be NOTICED. Go for the red.
