leaky clutch cylinder

I just cleaned brake fluid off my left pants cuff.

You see, I drive a Spitfire.

I hadn't had to do it in a while, because the last time
I "redid" the clutch, I honed the master and slave cylinders
out nicely. That was a few years ago.

However, it seems too soon to be doing it again. I have
three questions:

1. How does that high-quality Girling master cylinder
    know it's in a Spitfire?

2. Why doesn't the Honda leak brake fluid onto the driver's
side floor, too? For that matter, why does only the
clutch cylinder leak, and not the brake cylinder, too?

3. Will using DOT 5 silicone fluid in the clutch help
    the problem?

I would appreciate advice on any or all of these three questions.
By the way, the rubber boot covering the plunger IS intact.
