Greg,

That's OK. What I'm really after is with the skin off. The reason is that I
think the connector is actually inside the top of the door right under the
skin, and that you can't pull the wire out of the door through the hole as
the connector is larger than the hole.

Don't worry about removing the skin. Someone will either have their skins
off, or remember how theirs was. But that connector is what I'm interested
in. Also, where the other end of the wire goes. You say to the switch.

I know several people have reciently had the wire break between the roof and
the door. In fact, a friend had his over here when the wire broke. We spent
about 1/2 hr trying to get the wire out so we could replace it. To no avail.
I ended up using an inline crimp to put the 2 pieces of wire back together.
Didn't like that, but it was a quick fix.

I think that the wire from the switch to the connector in the door should
be replaced. But again, I believe the skin has to be off the door to
do it.

I wonder, if you removed the wire from the switch, tied a string to it, could
you pull it through the door and get to the connector if it came down to
the area where the solenoid is? It seems to me that we tried to pull the
wire down through the door, and couldn't. Don't know if the wire was
trapped by the window channel, or if the connector was being pinched some-
place as we tried to pull the wire through the door.
