Apologies for pointing out the obvious, but.... taking into account daylight
savings time:

Sun rise Sun set Time Effective run
time
October 1: 7:06am 6:52pm 11:46 8:52
October 8: 7:12am 6:42pm 11:30 11:30 (its marina)
October 22: 7:25am 6:22pm 10:57 8:22
November 5: 6:40am 5:06pm 10:26 7:06
November 12: 6:47am 5:00pm 10:13 7:00

[data for San Francisco, I didn't actually key in the longitude and
lattitude for GGF.

Now, October 8 is marina, so based on the data we have there will probably
be 180 entrants, which leaves 250 for the other dates. Since on Sunday we
finished at 7:04pm with some organizational problems (the timing sheets, the
overlap), we're probably ok for the start of october. However, October 22nd
looks harder, and come November we have a *big* problem.

        Giles

Every local event slush or not in this group was over 200
entrants.
