Charlie:

Be very careful with low-powered FM station transmitters. The FCC has
stepped up their enforcement on unlicensed FM broadcasting stations and
with non FCC typed-accepted equipment. The non FCC Typed-Accepted
equipment has been causing some real severe intereference with other
radio services such as Aviation Comm & Nav, Aviation/Military & Weather
Radars because of the inferior equipment emitting spurious (dirty)
signals. This is such a problem throughout the nation and the Bay Area
is one of their hot spots for this activity. The fine is $10,000.00 a
day and time in jail.

Now if you feel that they don't put people in jail for these offenses,
please think again. They just sentenced a person 5 years in jail for a
case that I just worked on. If you're operating under a license with FCC
typed-accepted equipment for the purpose it is type-accepted than you
shouldn't have any problem.

Just passing on some information.
