I remember some years ago Car & Driver did a "track
test" of a diesel-electric locomotive.  One thing they
said about the engine's output was that it had as much
torque as 65 Corvette ZR1's.

I used to engage in this hobby myself.  I'd like to
get back into it one of these days, when I have more
time and money...
