Hmm I thought the stock wiring and ammeter was rated for 30 amps. If your battery is discharged and you have accessories on you may fry wires and toast the ammeter? Tom W. - what are your thoughts on

You have the right idea. Typically the battery and alternator are hooked together. Through the ammeter. Battery on the other side of the ammeter. So if your alternator can handle 80 amps of load, it

I just picked up a alt. that bolts right into the place of the old one! It is a duralast DL7127M. When I asked them for the "single wire" alt. this it what they gave me. It does need one wire to hook
